Chris Freund, Vice President
As Vice President of Policy and Communications for The Family Foundation, Chris is responsible for the development and implementation of the organization's government relations, public policy and public relations strategies. He is also responsible for all aspects of media relations, including writing press releases and promoting media coverage of The Family Foundation's issues and activities.
Chris, who joined the staff at The Family Foundation as a policy analyst in April 2002, is responsible for advocating Family Foundation policy positions with elected officials, developing public policy positions, conducting research and drafting policy papers and legislative proposals. Chris oversees The Family Foundation's lobbying team during General Assembly sessions, as well as the organization's summer internship program.
Chris also serves as a media spokesperson for The Family Foundation and has been quoted in the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Richmond Times Dispatch, the Washington Times, the Virginian Pilot, the Roanoke Times and World Magazine.
Prior to joining TFF, Chris served as assistant press secretary for Governor James Gilmore, and as the national press secretary for Christian Coalition of America.
Before entering politics, Chris taught history and Bible at Christian schools in Florida.
Chris has a bachelor's degree from Clearwater Christian College in Florida and a master's degree in public policy from Regent University. He, his wife Rebecca and daughter Megan live in Midlothian, Virginia.
